Teenya Franklin Bio

Who is Teenya?

Teenya Teenya is an ever-changing creature. She works hard not to let the ghosts of her past haunt her and strives to continue learning about the world around her and those who share this earthly plane with her. She feels that she can learn from every person she meets in this world. Teenya is not interested in economic or social status and values the individuality of every living soul on this planet no matter who they are or what their life situation may be. Knowledge is Power

Teenya’s daily work at Pearson involves a ton of accessibility remediation and dual testing on electronic documents including MS Office files and PDFs. During many testing sessions some of her coworkers who use assistive technology would often tell her how frustrating navigating complex content in these files is and ask her “How come they didn’t just make this a webpage”? So when one of her teammates Jan McSorley asked her if she would be willing to take web certification classes Teenya was more than willing to embark on a new quest for knowledge.

While she is sure that this quest will be filled with moments of panic and feeling lost Teenya is confident that with the support of her team member this quest will be more than worthwhile. It may take a few years, however Teenya is excited at the prospect of completing her Capstone Project, creating a website for a nonprofit; gaining her Web Development Certification.
