Work History

November 2015 - Present: Accessible Materials Specialist at Pearson

Works with companywide teams on document accessibility evaluation and remediation, developing and delivering accessible materials training, and accessible resource management. Additional duties include but are not limited to designing and deliver training for product teams around best practices for the timely delivery of quality Braille, large print, tactile graphics, sign language videos, captions, and transcripts for various products in the School line of business.

August 2012 - November 2015: HMIS Agency Coordinator at Front Steps, Inc.

Managed and maintained the accuracy and integrity of the required data collection of client information. This data is maintained in a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database mandated by contract(s) with the city and other funding sources. Served as the agency’s resident expert in the system acting as the primary contact with necessary external agencies regarding the ongoing maintenance and updates to the database.

November 2011 - November 2015:Independent Contractor/Consultant

Provided dcoument remediation and electronic file organization services to various clients.

January 2011 - November 2011: Site Manager at Austin Free-Net

Served as the Liaison between Austin Free-Net and 15 public computer center partner sites in the Texas Connects Coalition, including city health and human services departments, community centers, homeless service providers, senior centers and low-income apartment projects. Listened to needs of sites, trainers, volunteers and lab monitors and provided solutions.

April 2004 - January 2011: Director of Community Programs at Knowbility, Inc.

Responsible for developing and coordinating each AIR (Accessible Internet Rally) program, including board development, fund-raising, marketing, public relations, volunteer recruitment and logistics. During my tenure, the AIR programs trained more than 600 web site developers and developed over 150 web sites. On average, produced three AIR programs per year, each with a budget of approximately $100,000, raising money through corporate sponsorship's, in-kind donations and grant requests.
